St. Gall (c. 550–646)

St. Gall, an Irish monk and disciple of St. Columbanus, brought monastic life and Christian teaching to Switzerland. He established communities devoted to prayer, study, and service, emphasizing discipline, hospitality, and evangelistic outreach; Gall’s work fostered spiritual formation and strengthened the Church in new regions, reflecting a life devoted to obedience, learning, and the care of souls. Gall encourages disciplined devotion, hospitality, and teaching in daily life.

May his example inspire faithful witness, the cultivation of spiritual habits, and service to neighbors as a reflection of Christ’s love.
